Where did you get your username?

Being a literary nerd, I got my name for "The Lord of the Rings," but not directly.  I actually had two dogs named Samwise Gamgee (Sammy) and Peregrine Took (Pippin).  Sammy was supposed to be my dog, and Pippin was supposed to be for my wife and daughter, but Pippin latched onto me instead.  Therefore, when it came time to give myself a username, I decided to use the name I'd given my fuzzy buddy.

My story starts several years ago, when I'd first started internetting. My Username was Swirl~Girl. I was 9, okay. So I kept it when I joined Carl and Pam's Forum. I got multiple nick names, including Swirly and SG, then along came Pippin and he turned me into a turtle (From Finding Nemo A.K.A. my childhood). The end.

My username doesn't have any background or meaning, it is merely a sacred spot amongst the usernames of the Internet, belonging solely to me.

I chose to name my old website NotJustaBook because it was a site for my bookreviews and stories and in my opinion, there's no such thing as just a book - books make you angry and sad and happy and they mean a lot to me. Nowadays it's my Tumblr address and my username when I join new places. I think it has a nice ring and it fits me very well (it's also unlikely to be taken when I join sites so that's good, too).

My name comes from a play on words. My first name is Kasey, and I wanted to be clever, and Kase rhymes with Ace, and, you know... deck of cards has an Ace of Hearts, so I thought I might just become the Kase of Hearts. That was boring, haha.

I made it up for C&P's forum, I just liked Nettle and love juice so the two were combined =]

I love terrible puns and the work of Charlotte Brontë. My username was birthed after a copulation of those two interests.

I got the Darth part of my username from Starwars, I added sim because this is a site about the sims lol.

I used to work at a little cinema and when we got movies in, we'd have to make a time sheet for reference with all the information people ask on it, like the times it starts and ends, the rating and why it's rated like it is, the length of the movie, who's in it, etc. When Don't Be Afraid of the Dark came in, it was Rated R, which none of us really batted an eye at until we had screened it and were baffled because there wasn't really anything in there that could give it an R rating. We checked the time sheet our boss had printed and the only thing listed under the rating explaining it was "PERVASIVE SCARINESS". Further research revealed that the studios had forced the R rating on the movie in order to generate interest in an otherwise boring looking movie, but the only thing they could come up to justify the rating was that it was, like, REALLY SCARY you guys....Pervasive scariness is a fancy way of saying there's intense scariness throughout the film. I thought it was an amusing term and now use it as my username occasionally.

It's my nickname! My name is Sinead, which became Sin, which became Sinny. It's usually taken on websites though.
