Okay, guys. I was just curious about favorite moments my fellow Simmers have experienced. This might relate to funny moments when playing, great victories experienced while playing, or any of those unexpected joys that come from Sims having freewill.

I remember when I was younger, we had a computer in the kitchen, and that was where I would play the sims. One night, everyone was cleaning up from dinner, and I was playing the newest expansion pack "Hot Date." I bought my sims the vibrating bed and when they were in it, there was an option to "Woohoo." I was like, what is that! What does that mean? So I clicked on it and triggered a cut scene where my sims started getting it on while my parents were hanging out at the dinner table behind me. I freaked out and turned off the sound and the monitor and just started forward like I had just always been staring at the blank computer scene, nbd. I guess that's not so much a favorite memory, but it is definitely one that sticks out to me, hahaha.
Oh, and the time I had created The Weasley famly (from Harry Potter) in my game, and there were so many of them, and I couldn't make money fast enough, that they all starved to death.

I always associate cold hands and feet with late night Sim sessions. When I was a teenager and my parents finally bought a PC, they had it stored and setup downstairs in the hallway. I saved up my money from my newspaper round and after a few months I finally had enough money to buy a standard copy of the The Sims 1. The only problem was that my parents were understandably very strict about computer usage so my sister and I were only allowed an hour each. Now as many of you know, that just isn't long enough to get fully immersed into the sims. So I would wait until everybody else was asleep and sneak into the hallway to play until the small hours. I was always so tired and my parents just assumed it was because I was a teenager. Little did they know...
Anyway, the hallway was always freezing, especially in the winter. Now whenever my feet or hands get cold it makes me feel a little nostalgic.
OH! KaseOfHearts I had the exact same problem as you when it came to that damn bed! So embarrassing.

I remember back when my parents finally got a computer that was good enough for the Sims as well. Everytime I get a new computer, I get that same feeling of excitement. The first day I played, I played for six hours straight and I'd always get up very early in the morning to play so as to not bother the rest of the family (good thing I'm a morning person)... *sigh* good times.

I think one of my most enjoyable moments (in terms of demonstrating my foolish naivety) would have to be when I had just gotten the Uni expansion and started playing my two-part story with Luisa Libros in a decadynasty and the Caliente sisters going to Uni. I looked at the new options with the phone and wondered, "What on earth might 'woohooty text' mean?" and that's how Nina started off the story as the woman of low morals. And I just kept on playing her that way for the rest of the fiel (which I have been neglecting like crazy for about 3 months straight). In fact, she celebrated her adult birthday by woohooty texting each of her romantic interests and then kicking them out immediately so she could invite the next. Yep. That really happened all due to me being naïve :=)

Did you not know what Woohoo is? Because I knew exactly what a Woo-hooty text would be. Anyways, uhhh, I've been playing The Sims for so long it's hard to think, (Since I was in the womb)Well, one time we were in Best Buy and I got to choose what expansion we got for The Sims 2, I was so proud when I chose OFB. Well, there was another time where I had a friend over, and our sims lived in this gigantic rectangle, it was so ugly, And this sim got set on fire cause we tried to make him bake Cheesecake, so our sims could have twins. We were planning on 4 kids at the same time. Thank watcher they all burned.Oh, another time we were at my cousins house, and we wanted to see what would happen when each type of sim died. So we got a toddler, a kid, a teen, an adult, an elder and a dog and a cat, and locked them in a red box. We laughed so hard when the dog began to drink, uh, I'll stop here.

Oh my gosh, I remember giant rectangles! I first played the Sims when I was...I don't know, 11 or 12? Rectangle houses were my life. They were literally all I could build. ...12 years later and not much has changed.

The key is to make the rooms. Add 'em on where they look even, but not perfect. Hallways can be useful but don't overuse them.

My cousin always just made a completely square starter house with four rooms and I did that for years - if I didn't just make rectangles! These days I find house plans online and recreate them in-game, then add furniture and stuff myself. I'm rubbish at the general outline of the house but if I've just got that, I can do a somewhat decent job of prettifying it

I never thought of using house plans. That's such a great idea! I might have to try it out and see if I can fix my inability to build suitable homes.
Have you ever tried the blueprint feature in-game? I tried it out recently, but I wasn't keen.

I find it much easier to make cool houses because blueprints are basically like looking down at the lines for walls in the sims. And people whose job it is to make them have drawn it! My only problem still is the roof. I just do not know how roofs work.

This makes me think we should have a "Finish My Building" Thread. I'm fairly decent on all of those. But say, you needed a house for a specific family. Describe the family and someone else could make a floorplan for you, you download it, and pretty it. Same idea for roofs, maybe interior decorating.

I tried using them and I think the rooms do look awesome (if you can afford the expensive ones) - but I still just end up with houses that are huge boxes. I much prefer using house plans, still.
