Thanks so much, guys. I'm glad I can share my work with you. It's nice to hear feedback after so many weeks of this.

Week 4: Women of Literature - Jo MarchI actually really loved doing this one. I was super sad to get Jo March because I'd never read or seen Little Women. So I actually sat to watch it, and it was really great. I liked how Jo was her own person even during a time when women weren't really supposed to be. I'm Jo March. I'm the second oldest of four sisters. (God bless my mother, putting up with us all). Of us, I keep my sisters sane. I have ideas, you know? A great deal of them, and they come out in plays or stories. My sisters are a wonderful audience. Plenty of times, I'd act out scenes in one of my stories for them. They'd cheer, stomp, hoot and holler. Sometimes, they would join along. We could act out our fantasies this way. Share our hopes and dreams and secrets. There was never another place like it, the stage of our bedrooms. And of course there was dear, sweet Laurie. My Laurie. My best friend, who had just as much sense as he lacked, and I loved him for it. Though, I would say that most of all, he lacked grace. I spent much of my time reading and writing, when I wasn't with my sisters or Laurie. I hoped to move to New York, become a famous writer. I truly believed that I could. I was also the care taker. When Beth fell ill with Scarlet fever, I took care of her. And when we were low on funds, I sold my hair. (Even if it was out of fashion, Amy.) And though I had been doing things differently than others all my life, perhaps I didn't realize how strange I'd appeared to the rest of the world until I rejected a perfectly good proposal from my dear Laurie. I was so sorry to break his heart, but if I was going to have love, it was going to be on my own terms. But my story isn't a love story. It's not about the handsome and intelligent German professor Bhaer that I chose to marry. It's about me, my family. I suppose it's our journey, our story. The Little March Women, determined and lovely.

Wait, Amy? Wasn't the actress from Le Mis named Anne Hathaway? Yes, the actress from Le Mis was Anne Hathaway, but Amy is the name of Jo March's youngest sister. And when Jo cut her hair to sell it, Amy said, "Oh, Jo. Your only beauty!" And was upset that her hair was short because short hair was out of style then.
