Howdy, Sanctum crew! My favorite style in writing is steampunk. I love the look and feel of it. There's just something about the mixture of Victorian ideologies and clockwork constructs that grabs my attention and captivates my imagination. What sort of genres do you enjoy and why?

Fantasy's really my thing - I really dig the endless possibilities, and the fact that you can explore so many complex and serious real-life issues - with, like, one hundred percent more dragons. I do have a weakness for fairytale type stories and crime stories as well. Or... imagine a crime/fantasy story set in a fairy tale world? Heck, I want to write that now.

Sci-fi here; I really like the idea of high-technology (Not to mention it lets you cheat and break the rules of physics), and the best part of about Sci-fi for me is that it lets me explore my ideas regarding progress and what the future should look like.

NotJustaBook--I'm actually going vaguely in the crime/fantasy direction with my Abernathy Cromwell story! Nifty of you to already like the genre ;=) Wiry-Shall we assume you are all about the "Into the Future" expansion?

As long as it doesn't portray technology and science and progress as bad things, I'm all for it! ;D

It seems that I like realistic fantasy. The idea that these fantastic things could really be happening is too appealing.

I think I like too many genres? I love Steampunk, Pippin. So much. There's just something about that idea that just is so smart and interesting. And, Louise, I'd freakin' love to have a fantasy/crime mystery from you (as well as Pippin!). That is really too awesome.
Sci-Fi is also amazing, but I find that it has to be done a very specific way for me to be into it. I think I enjoy dystopian settings with a Sci-Fi environment. Not like technology ruined it, but more like people ruined it, haha. So don't worry, Wiry.
But I think my most favorite is probably fantasy-horror with steampunk elements? Am I too specific?

No more specific than my love of Sci-fi with a decaying society which inevitably becomes restored!

I like modern/fantasy. I like the juxtaposition of supernatural happenings in our contemporary world. I'm thinking of creating a story on here that has to do with modern fairy tales. But maybe I'll add in a crime element since that seems to be pretty popular.

I love steampunk, fantasy, horror, thrillers and historical novels. Anything with a dystopian future is great too.

I'm really into dystopian and post-apocalyptic literature. I find the work of Margaret Atwood is especially good for hitting that spot. In particular her recently completed MaddAddam trilogy. I just wish there were a few more sim stories that fall into this genre.

I love dystopian stuff, so I imagine I'd love it. You know, you could give us all a good dystopian tale.

It really is profoundly beautiful and very intelligently written, so I hope you get the chance to read it soon. Hmm, maybe! Although my Legacy is taking up most of the small amount of free time I have right now. But a dystopian tale could be something I attempt after it's completed. Though, that could be a while...I'm only on generation 3.

Maybe you'll see more dystopia after the Into the Future EP.
