Yes, he is one of my favourite authors (but no one will ever beat Atwood)! I first stumbled across his work when I randomly selected Stardust from the local library a few years back. I took it on a walk with me and ended up sat in a field reading it. I didn't get home until it was dark! It was during midsummer and it doesn't really get dark until about 10pm over here during that time. I've loved his work ever since.

There's a manga of James Patterson's series, "Maximum Ride" I quite like that series, but I've fallen behind on the books, it's hard to keep up with all the books and plots and sub plots and resolved plots and new plots and, well, I'm bad at following.

I think I joined this forum mainly so I could post my list of favorites. I should mention that once I was asked in a job interview what my favorite book was. I not only couldn't think of my favorite book, I couldn't think of any book I'd read, ever. Needless to say, I didn't get the job.
In no particular order --
1. Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, by Lewis Carroll 2. The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien 3. The Three Pillars of Zen, by Philip Kapleau 4. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards 5. Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens 6. King Lear, by William Shakespeare 7. The People of the Lakes, etc. by William H. and Kathleen O'Neal Gear 8. Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte 9. Outlander, etc., by Diana Gabaldon 10. Yeah, okay, the Harry Potter books, by J. K. Rowling

Oooh, I could have included Jane Eyre, too. I loved that one!
And hey, I forgot Howl's Moving Castle/Castle in the Air by Diana Wynne Jones. That's practically criminal!
